Together for Alzheimer’s 5k Run or Walk’
Sunday October 17th 2021
Birchwood Tourist Park, Wareham Forest
“My mum, Lily Murray, was wonderful and lived life to the full. When she was diagnosed with dementia in her early 70’s, our family wanted do something to help raise awareness of this horrible disease and decided to fundraise for The Alzheimer’s Society. We first organised ‘Together for Alzheimer’s 5k Fun Run/Walk’ 14 years ago and with the support of great friends and volunteers it has become a very popular annual event. The route takes us through some lovely forest tracks and we encourage everyone from club runners to walkers and family groups. “
It would be great if you could get involved by either taking part or joining our team of volunteers to help on the day. We will need help with marshals, registration, photographer, cake makers and any other way you may be able to help. If you are not able to come along, you are very welcome to join us virtually and still support this great event!
I have attached an entry form and also a poster for you to display locally if possible. Please spread the word :)

It was so good at the weekend to move the clocks forward and to start to enjoy what is my favourite time of the year. I really love being woken up early with birdsong and still being able to be outside later as the days get longer. We are now able to meet up outdoors with small groups of friends and family and spend time together in the garden. I am sure that over the next few months we will be trying to catch up slowly with missed birthdays and other celebrations.
The government have given a clear indication of the reduction of Covid restrictions and I am very happy to say that we can start to plan ahead for classes once again.

Together (in spirit) for Alzheimers 2020.’
This year, more than ever 'The Alzheimer's Society' needs our support. Fundraising has been greatly reduced due to many events being cancelled and it is vital that this great charity can continue supporting those affected by dementia and that research can be funded to fight this horrible disease.
If you would like to take part, now is the time to get your 'team' together, plan your start time and route and get training! Please let us know if you would like any advice organising your group.
Any donations can be made by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/togetherforalzheimers2020
and I am attaching a sponsor form to help with your fundraising.
It would be great if you could join in and support this great charity. We would love to see your photos and share them on our page, and if we happen to see you in the forest give us a wave!
